Services offered for childcare in the CONCORDIA Tranzit Center

The Tranzit Centre offers integrated social and community services for preventing the abandonment of school by children within the Municipality of Prizren. The services offered by the organization for achieving this target include: (1) social assistance; (2) psychological support including counselling for children with a special focus on young girls; (3) support in education (additional classes, homework and financial support); as well as (4) medical support. Within the medical support service, CONCORDIA enables regular health evaluations and support for children to have access to public health services. the Organization also works in providing a healthy living environment for children. 

CONCORDIA puts a special emphasis on the different educative and recreational activities for children including art workshops, music classes, sport activitities and competitions, workshops for developing skills for life as well as raising children's civil engagement through visits in various state institutions. 

Acceptance of new program users in the Tranzit Centre

Prior to the enrollment of the child as a program user of the Project CONCORDIA Tranzit Centre, an initial evaluation is conducted by the social workers and the psychologist of CONCORDIA. Afterwards, a personalized interventions program is developed based on the initial evaluation and the goals which are expected to be reached. More specifically, the intervention objectives, methods for reaching objectives, the duration of the interventions and the persons responsible in the work process are defined. In this way, the needs and priorities of each child are identified. This process helps us in better directing our interventions towards reaching the child's objectives. Meanwhile, CONCORDIA ensures on informing and describing to each child and their families the roles and responsibilities they carry throughout the interventions as well as the entire process. 

In defining the daily schedule of the children in the Day Care Centre of CONCORDIA Tranzit, several factors are considered such as: the age of the child, their development and potential, needs and skills that they have. The schedule is also adapted based on the season, school curricula and the holidays period.
